Abstract

When the central nervous system—which includes the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves—is injured
or malfunctioning, it may lead to a persistent condition known as neuropathic pain. Thus, it is safe to say that neuropathic
pain is a long-term condition that has enormous societal and healthcare systemic implications. It is anticipated that the
prevalence of neuropathic pain will continue to climb, with estimates ranging from 7-8% in the general population.
Neuropathy pain has a major effect on people's lives. Reducing the patient's symptoms of neuropathic pain and enhancing
their quality of life is a challenge for the medical practitioner in India. Certain negative consequences, such as neuropathic
pain, are more likely to manifest in the elderly. There has to be a distinct approach to managing neuropathic pain as it differs
from nociceptive pain. A comprehensive literature study of neuropathic pain's causes, symptoms, progression, current
treatment methods, and available pharmaceuticals formed the basis of this review paper. This study presents the clinical
methods for neuropathic pain and their recommendations, as well as their practical application. Clinical data study with an
emphasis on outcomes is used to alleviate neuropathic pain and related symptoms.
